Yiwu's Cooling & Water-Saving Products Sweep Europe as Orders Stretch into 2027

2026-08-25 CCTV / Yiwu Commercial News / China Supply Info30

Yiwu merchants are experiencing an unprecedented export boom as European demand for cooling fans, water-saving faucets, and micro-irrigation kits surges with the continent's prolonged heat wave and drought crisis, with orders now extending into 2027

As Europe continues to grapple with extreme heat and escalating drought conditions, merchants in Yiwu International Trade City are operating at maximum capacity to meet surging foreign demand for cooling and water-saving products. The trade center has shifted into emergency mode, with wall-mounted air cooling fans, micro-irrigation kits, water-saving showerheads, and ice-making water purifiers flying off shelves — and orders now stretching into 2027.

Merchants in Yiwu have detected a decisive shift in European procurement patterns: buyers no longer seek cooling alone — they demand water efficiency. "European customers who previously used 30mm valve cores are now specifically requesting 25mm versions," said Liu Junming, a hardware merchant. "Water savings are immediate and measurable." His exports of water-saving faucets surged from 1,000-2,000 units monthly to nearly 10,000 units last month alone.

The speed-to-market advantage of Yiwu's supply chain has proven decisive. British clients placed air freight orders for 1,500 cooling fans after initial sample orders, opting for air over sea despite higher costs to meet urgent demand. "In previous years, cooling product shipments would have wound down by now," said Chen Jianping, a Yiwu merchant. "But with sustained European heat and an extended sales cycle, volumes are up 20% year-on-year, and even colleagues in general merchandise and accessories are now stocking cooling items."

Cixi manufacturers in Zhejiang Province report that their newest water-saving products, capable of reducing water consumption by up to 70%, now have waiting lists extending into next year. European buyers from the UK, Italy, France, and the UAE are the primary export markets, with orders doubling year-on-year for water-efficient sanitary ware products.
