When European nations face soaring temperatures and high air conditioning prices, Yiwu's portable heating and cooling fans rush to the rescue via China-Europe freight trains. When African countries struggle with power shortages, Yiwu merchants' customized solar-plus-storage products light up the night. When regions worldwide face water scarcity crises, Yiwu's efficient water-saving products cross oceans to provide the "Yiwu solution" for global water shortages.
As the global energy landscape undergoes profound restructuring, energy-saving products from Yiwu Market are quietly becoming essential daily necessities for countless overseas households. Yiwu is using its small products to solve the world's big problems.
Water-Saving Micro-Innovations Drive International Orders
On August 17, a Palestinian merchant visited Yiwu Yilengnuo Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd.'s 1,680-square-meter showroom in the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center, examining energy-efficient bathroom products. The company's chairman demonstrated water faucets with 25mm valve cores that reduce water flow from 20 liters per minute to 10.2 liters under 0.3 MPa pressure compared to traditional 30mm valves.
These water-saving faucets now sell 10,000 units monthly, primarily exported to the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and the United Arab Emirates, with orders doubling year-on-year. Even small water-saving gaskets, costing just a few yuan each, have become "hidden heroes" in water-scarce regions of the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Solar-Plus-Storage Products Light Up Africa
In Yiwu International Trade City District 2, a merchant reported that a British customer ordered 200 portable cooling fans via air freight in July, followed by an additional 1,500 units. The fans, priced at around 140 GBP locally, offer dual heating and cooling functionality with plug-and-play convenience.
African customers from Mali and Sudan have been particularly enthusiastic about solar-powered lighting, fans, mosquito traps, and refrigerators. One solar fan model can operate on direct electricity or pair with a 7.4V, 6W solar panel for continuous clean energy operation, ideal for regions with unstable power grids.
At the Yiwu Solar Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Application Products Expo held in May, a Saudi procurement delegation signed approximately $3 million in意向 orders covering photovoltaic components, energy storage systems, and solar lighting.
Yiwu's energy-saving product ecosystem spans solar charging lights, flashlights, energy storage batteries, and portable solar generation devices, primarily concentrated in International Trade City District 2 East and the Global Digital Trade Center, serving markets in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
