BMW Reaches 2 Million Global Battery Electric Vehicle Sales Milestone

BMW has reached a historic milestone of 2 million cumulative battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales globally, with its revolutionary Neue Klasse platform driving accelerated growth. The Neue Klasse models have boosted European BEV market share to 28% in the first half of 2026. Assembly of the redesigned BMW i3 has begun as part of this new generation of electric vehicles. BMW's Neue Klasse models also feature an expanded standard suite of active safety systems, including active door-opening delay using side radars and emergency steering intervention. The company is leveraging data from 1.3 million connected vehicles covering 1.6 billion kilometers across Europe to continuously improve its active safety technology.
