Tesla has announced an invitation-only "Tesla Semi Rollout" event to celebrate the official opening of its dedicated Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, scheduled for next month. The 1.7-million-square-foot facility will host visitors who can tour the plant and ride in the Class 8 electric trucks currently being produced. The project, first unveiled eight years ago, has quietly accelerated over the past year toward scaled production. Tesla aims to ramp the factory toward an annual capacity of 50,000 units, marking a significant step in commercializing heavy-duty electric trucking.
