Persistent high temperatures and drought across Europe are driving a surge in orders for cooling and water-saving products from Yiwu, the world's largest small-commodity hub, according to a CCTV Finance report in late August 2026.
Exporters in Yiwu say demand has risen sharply for wall-mounted air fans, water-saving shower heads, evaporative coolers and other products that help households and businesses cope with heat and water shortages. Several manufacturers report that order books for popular cooling products have already been scheduled into 2027.
Merchants are adapting product lines to European climate conditions and energy-efficiency standards, developing models with lower power consumption and higher water savings. The trend illustrates how global climate challenges are creating new opportunities for Chinese small-commodity exporters to shift toward higher-value, needs-driven products.
