Germany's BEV market reached its highest share since the commercial purchase incentive expired in August 2023. KBA data released August 6 shows 78,609 new battery-electric registrations in July, up 61.7% from a year earlier, lifting the BEV segment to 29.3% of the market — the third-highest monthly figure on record. Including plug-in hybrids, chargeable models accounted for 39.3% of new registrations. The VDIK noted that international manufacturers' BEV share reached an estimated 49.4%, a record, with BYD the fastest-growing import brand at +365.4%. In the first seven months, German BEV registrations rose 50.2% to 446,615.
