August 11, 2026 saw a wave of new model launches from major Chinese and joint-venture automakers, signaling what industry observers call a new wave of product launches.
XPeng Motors held the premiere of its G9L model, simultaneously opening pre-sales. The G9L features the company's second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) system with a major upgrade, along with a panoramic starry cabin. Powered by 800-volt ultra-fast charging, it can add 450 km of range in just 9 minutes.
Leapmotor launched its A05 model, available with 39.8 kWh and 53 kWh battery options, offering ranges of 405 km and 510 km respectively. Leapmotor positioned the A05 as "the last important piece of the puzzle" in its quest to achieve one million in annual sales.
BYD officially launched the 2027 Seal, available in both DM-i (plug-in hybrid) and EV (pure electric) versions, positioned as a fully-equipped B-segment family sedan.
SAIC Volkswagen also opened pre-sales for the ID. ERA 5S, adding to the day's flurry of automotive activity.
