North China's Hebei province now ranks first nationwide in both intelligent computing scale and data-center rack capacity, according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology's 2026 comprehensive computing power report released at the China International Digital Economy Expo.
The province has 556.1 EFLOPS of intelligent computing capacity in use and 2.504 million standard racks, both the highest in China, forming a hard-core base for the digital economy.
The expo showcased the world's first wireless-cable-free box-type supernode device: a single cabinet integrates 40 domestic GPU cards fully interconnected through dedicated chips, delivering more than 28 PFLOPS of compute. Local company Runze Technology has laid out nine AI data-center parks worldwide and is accelerating construction of gigawatt-scale intelligent computing parks.
Downstream, Changshan Cloud Data Center in Shijiazhuang has built a self-operated Tier-A data center offering a 'token factory' with pay-as-you-go lightweight AI computing services. Since going online in August, the token factory has signed up more than 100 customers, with individual users calling about 5 billion tokens per day on average.
Industry observers say the chain from supernode hardware and hyperscale computing parks to lightweight, affordable token services shows how leading compute capacity is being converted into usable momentum for traditional industries undergoing digital upgrades.
