Container volume on the "Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe" (Yixinou) freight train route surpassed 200,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) this year as of October 7, according to Yiwu Customs data cited by CCTV News.
Yixinou, one of China's national China-Europe freight train assembly centers, now operates 27 stable running lines radiating across more than 50 countries and regions and over 160 cities in Asia and Europe.
The milestone underscores Yiwu's role as a logistics hub connecting Chinese small commodities with Eurasian markets. During the National Day holiday, the Yiwu railway port worked to keep Zhejiang goods flowing to Asia and Europe via China-Europe freight trains, with gantry cranes operating around the clock, according to Zhejiang Daily.
Yiwu's new high-level railway station building, which entered service on October 9, is expected to further enhance the city's rail capacity and bring the "world's supermarket" closer to world markets.
