Tracing supplies heat equal to loss to hold temperature. Three methods: electric tracing, steam tracing and hot-water tracing. Choice depends on temperature need, install and cost - e.g. freeze point <50°C use tracer, 50-100°C use hot-water jacket, >100°C use internal jacket.
