Judge by conductor quality (7-strand tinned copper, adequate cross-section), start current (lower is better, ≤0.3 A/m excellent), and PTC irradiation (whole-cable irradiated = harder insulation, core not pullable; non-irradiated is unsafe). Buy from reputable makers and test start current.
