Types and application technology of water-based wood coatings - by binder type: (1) Acrylate (styrene-acrylic/modified acrylate emulsions): primers, matte topcoats, low cost, average hardness; (2) Polyurethane dispersion (aromatic/aliphatic, the latter outdoor-grade): good film, high gloss/abrasion, fewer defects, higher price; (3) Acrylic-modified PUD: balanced cost/performance, self-crosslinking or two-component, good hardness/fast drying/chemical resistance; (4) Water-based urethane oil: single-component, fast drying, good gloss/hardness/water resistance, for floors; (5) Water-based two-component PU (-OH dispersion + aliphatic curing agent): best water resistance/hardness/fullness, low yellowing, ideal outdoors.
2. Current product technology - single-component dominates; solid content 30%-45%; aliphatic PUD and urethane oil have the best water/alcohol resistance; hardness rises over time but rarely reaches H; gloss ~20% below solvent-based; two-component gives best fullness and abrasion.
