Crewe, September 24 (Motor1) -- Bentley has significantly revised its electrification strategy, confirming it will continue to offer gasoline and plug-in hybrid vehicles beyond its previous 2030 all-electric deadline. The ultra-luxury marque will now pursue a more gradual transition in response to evolving customer demand and market conditions, meaning its Beyond100 plan will see combustion engines remain in production for the foreseeable future.
The revision comes as the brand simultaneously launches the Torcal, its first all-electric production model, signalling a dual-track approach that hedges between regulatory pressure in Europe and continued demand for traditional powertrains in key markets. Industry analysts noted that several premium and luxury manufacturers have adjusted their electrification timelines over the past year as BEV growth in the ultra-luxury segment has lagged behind the mass market.
Bentley has not disclosed revised volume or share targets for electric models, but said the Torcal will anchor its electric line-up while hybrid and combustion derivatives continue to serve existing customers.
