London, September 24 (IAA Mobility) -- Bentley has unveiled the Torcal, its first all-electric production model, at a global debut in London. The roughly five-metre SUV establishes a fourth model line alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga, and is the brand's most affordable entry point at 173,300 pounds.
Two versions are offered: the standard Torcal with 821 PS and the Torcal S with up to 888 PS and 1,350 Nm of torque, the highest torque figure in Bentley's history. With launch control, the Torcal S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
Both use a 113 kWh battery with an 800-volt architecture, delivering up to 600 kilometres of range and fast charging at up to 400 kW, enough to go from 10 to 80 percent in 16 minutes. Seven minutes of charging adds around 161 kilometres of range.
The Torcal also introduces Bentley's first fully active suspension, electronic rear-wheel steering, 25 sensors and cameras for driver assistance, an augmented reality head-up display and facial recognition. Chief executive Frank-Steffen Walliser said the lower price point is intended to attract a younger customer base.
The model is named after a nature reserve in Andalusia, Spain.
