Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has announced the release of Grok 4.7, a new version of its AI model. The company said Grok 4.7 offers a notable improvement over its predecessor, Grok 4.6, while maintaining the same price and speed.
The announcement was made via xAI's official channels, with pricing reported at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens for prompts under 200,000 tokens, around a fifth of the frontier list price. With a 500,000-token context window, Grok 4.7 is positioned for long-running agent tasks.
The release continues xAI's strategy of competing on value, following the earlier launch of Grok Bot, a suite of named agents that hold their own memory, computer environment, browser and files, and keep working on assigned tasks while users are offline. Grok Imagine, a hands-free voice mode, and team and enterprise workspaces round out xAI's shift toward persistent agent work.
Industry observers note that Grok 4.7 serves as a cost-effective complement to frontier models rather than a direct replacement.
