Tesla has hit a new milestone in Ireland, passing 15,000 vehicle deliveries since it entered the market in late 2016. The company said new car registrations are up 21% year on year in 2026, with more than 2,729 vehicles registered so far this year as Ireland's electric vehicle market stages a strong recovery.
The Model Y was the second most popular EV model in Ireland this year with 1,179 units registered from January to August. A new Tesla Centre will open in North Dublin before the end of the year to support the brand's expansion.
Tesla also confirmed it is working with Irish authorities to enable regulatory approval for self-driving vehicles. At the start of the week, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) received regulatory approval in the Czech Republic, making it the seventh market in Europe to recognise the technology.
Tesla said Ireland is anticipating the arrival of the technology on Irish roads in due course.
