As of the close on August 26, the Shanghai Composite Index stood at 3,912.52, up 0.59%; the Shenzhen Component Index at 13,841.33, up 0.69%; and the ChiNext Index at 3,414.88, up 0.51%. Judging by average per-trade volume data, 2,250 stocks saw their average per-trade volume increase from the previous session, of which 59 rose by more than 50%, while 2,343 stocks recorded declines. Xinnong Chemical, Xinya Electronics and Qianjin Pharmaceutical were among the biggest sequential gainers.
Looking at the number of trades per stock, Zhongnan Culture, ST Jiayuan and Caesar Travel led the sequential gains, indicating that these stocks have been unusually active recently. Combining both per-trade volume and trade count, 23 stocks saw both metrics rise more than 50% from the previous session.
