China's intelligent connected vehicles have moved into the global first tier, with L2-level assisted driving penetration reaching 70.5 percent among passenger cars and NOA navigation-assisted driving reaching 34.2 percent, according to a China National Radio report on August 14.
The first batch of L3-level models has already received road-test licenses and begun operation. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is drafting a 15th Five-Year Plan for intelligent connected new energy vehicles.
The 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference is scheduled to take place in Beijing in October, bringing together global industry players to discuss standards, technology, and commercialization.
The rapid adoption of assisted driving reflects both consumer acceptance and the maturing capabilities of domestic suppliers, including chipmakers and algorithm developers competing with international leaders.
