The second World Humanoid Robot Games will open on August 22 at the National Speed Skating Oval, known as the "Ice Ribbon," in Beijing, according to an announcement on August 14.
Co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government and China Media Group, the event has attracted 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries across six continents. The number of teams is up 138 percent from the previous edition, while the number of robots has quadrupled.
China's role as host underscores its leading position in embodied intelligence. The games will provide a platform for technology exchange and standard-setting in the rapidly evolving humanoid robot sector.
Meanwhile, industry consolidation is accelerating. Several humanoid robot companies, including EngineAI, established a new company in Shanghai on August 12 with registered capital of 61.2 million yuan, reflecting closer upstream and downstream collaboration in the supply chain.
