China's smart glasses market saw strong growth in the first half of 2026, with total sales reaching 909,000 units, up 85.5 percent year on year, according to data from RUNTO released on August 14.
Sales revenue reached 1.88 billion yuan, rising 98.7 percent from a year earlier. AR glasses and camera-equipped glasses recorded significant growth, while AI audio glasses saw slower momentum.
Online sales leaders included Thunderbird, Rokid, Qianwen, and Huawei. The rapid growth reflects rising consumer interest in wearable AI devices and the expanding use cases for smart glasses beyond simple audio functions.
Industry observers expect the category to continue growing as manufacturers improve display quality, battery life, and AI integration, positioning smart glasses as a new frontier in consumer AI hardware.
