Westlake Robotics, a Chinese embodied AI company focused on developing "universal brains" for humanoid robots, announced the completion of its A round of financing led by Haiyuan Fund. This marks the company's fourth funding round within just six months, with cumulative financing reaching 500 million yuan.
The rapid succession of funding rounds reflects strong market recognition for the "universal brain" segment - the cognitive and decision-making layer of humanoid robots. While hardware body competition remains intense, companies focused on the "brain" are emerging as new capital favorites.
The new funds will be directed toward developing full-body unified large models for humanoid robots, iterating and upgrading the company's self-developed universal brain, and refining the GAE (General Avatar Embodiment) system to achieve breakthrough improvements in robot intelligence.
Separately, embodied intelligence data infrastructure company IO-AI Tech (Aiou Intelligent) also announced completing hundreds of millions of yuan in financing, highlighting the breadth of investment activity across the embodied AI value chain.
The funding momentum underscores growing investor confidence in China's embodied AI sector, as advances in large models and robotics technology accelerate the path from laboratory research to commercial deployment.
