Yiwu, Zhejiang Province - known as the "World Supermarket" - has implemented a series of practical measures to support Taiwan compatriots and enterprises, enabling them not only to come but to stay and take root, according to a report by Xinhua Daily Telegraph on August 13.
Over 400 Taiwan-funded market entities and more than 700 resident Taiwan businessmen have integrated into this "World Supermarket," with many young Taiwanese actively participating in emerging business formats such as livestream e-commerce and cross-border trade.
The report highlights how Yiwu's supportive environment for Taiwan businesses exemplifies the city's role as a bridge connecting entrepreneurs from across the Strait to global market opportunities. The city's comprehensive small commodity ecosystem provides a unique platform for Taiwan merchants to source products, build supply chains, and access international buyers.
Yiwu's approach demonstrates how the city leverages its position as the world's largest small commodity distribution center to foster inclusive economic participation, creating opportunities for diverse business communities to thrive in global trade.
