The autumn edition of Yiwu's auto and motorcycle parts exhibition opened in the "world's supermarket", with more than 90 percent of orders at the fair destined for overseas markets. Among the exhibitors was a company that refurbishes used heavy trucks — repaired, renovated and refitted with new parts — for export to Africa. "This is our first time exhibiting in Yiwu," a company representative said. "Trucks and construction machinery are popular in African markets, and Yiwu has long been full of African customers. We expect to add 500 African clients from this show."
Customs data show Yiwu exported 17.802 billion yuan of auto and motorcycle parts in 2025, up 51.5 percent, including 12,000 used vehicles (+62 percent) worth 1.483 billion yuan (+70.46 percent). Growth has continued at a rapid pace this year, driven by surging aftermarket demand in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and Southeast Asia and by the price-performance advantage of China's auto-parts supply chain.
Yiwu's dedicated auto-parts market has more than 1,500 stalls across 50,000-plus square meters, with a supply chain covering engine parts, braking systems and new-energy components. Over 90 percent of its products serve foreign trade. The fair, now in its third year with spring and autumn editions, adopted a "exhibition plus market" model linking the venue with the trade city; the spring edition drew intended deals of 370 million yuan, up 131.25 percent year on year.
