China's new energy vehicle startups have published their January-September delivery figures, revealing a sharply divided field. Leapmotor remained the runaway leader with 666,500 deliveries, up 68.5 percent year on year — the only startup above the 500,000 mark — including more than 100,000 units in each of July, August and September. Overseas deliveries passed 150,000 units, meeting its full-year export goal ahead of schedule, and the company has completed 66.7 percent of its one-million-unit annual target.
NIO delivered 300,301 vehicles in the first three quarters, up 49.2 percent, the fastest growth among major startups, including 109,178 units in the third quarter (+25.4 percent). Its new ES8 surpassed 150,000 deliveries within one year of launch, while the ES9 has been the best-selling pure electric model in the 500,000-yuan segment for three consecutive months. Zeekr posted 288,400 deliveries, up 101 percent, completing 96.1 percent of its 300,000-unit annual target — the highest completion rate in the industry — with overseas sales exceeding 10,000 units in both August and September.
Xiaomi delivered more than 285,500 units (+12 percent), breaking 40,000 in a single month for the first time in September. Xpeng delivered 284,400 units (-9.2 percent), while Li Auto, in a model-changeover period, delivered 293,400 units, down 1.2 percent. Harmony Intelligent Mobility (AITO) ranked second among startups with about 365,000 units.
