XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng said the company targets global annual sales of 1 million units by the end of 2030, with Europe accounting for half of that volume. He made the remarks during the Paris Motor Show, where XPeng is exhibiting at the event.
He also said XPeng plans to begin gradually delivering its high-level intelligent assisted driving system to global markets from 2027. The system, developed in-house, has been positioned as a core element of the company's global product strategy and a means of differentiating its vehicles in markets where traditional automakers still rely on driver assistance features.
XPeng has been one of the most active Chinese brands in European market. The company has expanded its retail and service network across the continent, and at the Paris show it introduced its in-house advanced driver assistance technology to European audiences for the first time.
Industry observers noted that the ambition signals that Chinese automakers are moving from an export-driven model toward long-term operating footprints, with sales targets, localized technology deployment and brand building all becoming part of the same strategy.
Elsewhere in the EV market, Tesla's Model Y took the top spot among all passenger vehicle models in the Nordic countries in September, according to registration data released this week.
