Yiwu's cross-border e-commerce transaction volume reached 127.535 billion yuan from January to August, up 12.23% year on year, according to China Yiwu Network. Platform layout in the city keeps intensifying: TikTok, SHEIN, AliExpress, Ozon and Coupang have held training and recruitment events in Yiwu this year, and the city has landed 16 functional institutions of third-party platforms including Amazon and Temu.
At a Mercado Libre Latin America recruitment launch event hosted by the Yiwu Cross-Border E-Commerce Association in September, the platform's China head called China the most important market in Mercado Libre's global strategy and Yiwu the key hub for deepening East China and radiating nationwide, promising one-stop localized services including official operations, guidance, training and logistics对接 for sellers.
Facing fierce competition in traditional foreign trade, more Yiwu enterprises are turning to cross-border e-commerce. At Yiwu Hongxiu Knitting, a yoga-wear maker, staff now launch 30–40 new products every month, with new designs tested weekly; the company covers Europe, the US and Latin America, with overall orders up 51% in the first eight months and about 10,000 orders daily. Emerging markets such as Mexico are becoming new blue oceans for Yiwu's cross-border sellers.
