A sea-rail intermodal train loaded with Yiwu small commodities - stationery, Christmas goods and more - departed the Yiwu (Suxi) International Hub Port for Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, marking cumulative export containers surpassing 300,000 TEU since the port opened on June 27, 2025.
The hub's trains have risen from an initial 2 per day to a normalized 56 paired circular trains daily. In January 2026 it launched one of the nation's first sea-rail multimodal new-model services, enabling "one declaration, full journey" and removing repeated filing across transport segments.
In August alone, containers under the new model grew 42% month on month. Customs estimates the integrated logistics cost per container is cut by about 20%, letting inland enterprises enjoy port benefits at their doorstep.
