As the national core distribution center for festive goods, Zhejiang's Yiwu market saw a sales peak for Mid-Autumn Festival products, with ornaments and lanterns blending traditional culture and handicraft winning favor with consumers at home and abroad.
At a shop in the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center, merchant Sun Lingjuan was checking a batch of orders bound for Southeast Asian countries. This year the shop designed a "Changong Shiyue" (Moon Palace) series - earrings, bracelets and necklaces - that proved popular with overseas buyers as soon as it launched.
Beyond traditional wholesalers, cross-border e-commerce merchants sell products directly to overseas consumers via livestreaming. Mid-Autumn lanterns with designs such as the jade rabbit, moonlit homes and autumn flowers have become market bestsellers.
