The 2026 World Robot Conference, held at Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) from August 19-23, successfully concluded after five days of intensive exhibitions, forums, and technology demonstrations.
The conference released 44 new technologies and solutions, attracted 557,000 on-site attendees, and invited over 10,000 international visitors. The event gathered global research, industry, and education forces, serving as a comprehensive platform for achievement releases, idea exchange, product exhibitions, and public science education.
The conference showcased the vigorous development of humanoid robots and embodied intelligence, with exhibits demonstrating significant advances in dexterous manipulation, multimodal perception, and human-robot interaction. Multiple Chinese companies presented their latest humanoid robot prototypes, with improvements in mobility, manipulation precision, and autonomous task completion.
In a related development, Zhejiang Province's Tsinghua Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology has established China's first multi-modal perception and embodied intelligence data collection training ground, addressing the "perception blind spot" of humanoid robots that previously relied solely on video and motion trajectory data without tactile feedback.
The event also saw the 2026 China "AI Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge finals held in Changzhou, where 30 quality tech teams from over 20 provinces competed, showcasing cutting-edge AI-empowered real economy innovation achievements. This marked the first time a national-level AI professional competition finals was held in Changzhou.
