According to an August 20 press conference by the Ministry of Transport, the "AI Plus Transportation" typical application scenario innovation action has been fully launched, with the first batch of 41 typical scenario projects officially starting construction.
The initiative sets up three categories of scenarios: application promotion, innovation demonstration, and breakthrough research. It focuses on cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence, and will release typical application scenario construction guidelines in batches.
The 41 first-batch projects emphasize public welfare orientation, industrial attributes, and implementation pathways, covering areas such as intelligent traffic management, autonomous freight transport, smart port operations, and AI-assisted road safety monitoring.
Separately, the National Science and Technology Ethics Committee's Medical Ethics Subcommittee released the "Ethical Guidelines for AI Medical Imaging Research" to promote responsible innovation and healthy development of AI medical imaging research.
These initiatives represent China's systematic approach to AI governance - promoting innovation while establishing ethical frameworks and practical application pathways. The transportation sector's adoption of AI is expected to accelerate significantly as these pilot projects demonstrate viable implementation models.
