The 2026 Indonesia ASEAN Stationery and Gifts Expo, held at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center, showcased Chinese stationery brands from Yiwu and other cities, attracting buyers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
The 5,500-square-meter exhibition area featured tens of thousands of office supplies, student stationery, and trendy creative products. Buyers flocked to the Chinese pavilions, eagerly placing orders and conducting on-site transactions in a vibrant atmosphere.
Yiwu-based KUKI Creative Culture Co., Ltd. reported strong demand for its signature "shake pen" product, with cumulative sales exceeding 100 million units. The company's new plush companion pen became a hit last year, with buyers ordering in tens of thousands. KUKI's core markets span Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East, with a new branch opened in Indonesia for faster market service.
Another Yiwu company, Yiyibushe, specializing in pencil cases and backpacks, reported Thailand as its top market this year. The company noted that Southeast Asian countries have earlier school start dates, prompting distributors to arrive for procurement as early as the beginning of the year.
China is the world's largest stationery manufacturer and exporter, with Chinese stationery exports accounting for approximately 30% of the global office stationery export total. Digital stationery, such as smart error-printing machines, is also gaining traction, with global annual shipments exceeding 18 million units and a market size of approximately 8.5 billion yuan. China contributes over 65% of global shipments in this category.
