At the 2026 AI Industry Conference, vertical large models are "growing" across Shandong, a province whose complete industrial system — 41 major industrial categories and 197 sub-categories — provides massive production-line data, rich application scenarios and a deep manufacturing base that together accelerate "AI+" implementation.
Data show that the province has 317 large-model products evaluated by third-party institutions, of which 51 have passed the national generative-AI service filing. Shandong organized 122 industrial large-model "answer-the-call" challenges covering all 41 major industrial categories, with 10 industrial large models selected into the national top 50 — ranking first in China.
Inspur alone has completed more than 300 model trainings and deployed nearly 1,000 agents, helping chain enterprises cut production costs by 30% and raise efficiency by over 60%, realizing large-scale intensive production of artificial intelligence. From a manufacturing province to a smart-manufacturing powerhouse, vertical models deeply rooted in production lines are thriving across the Qilu land.
Observers noted that the "thick foundation" of Shandong's industry has nurtured a veritable forest of large models, providing a replicable path for AI empowering new industrialization nationwide.
