Innovative products are attracting global buyers to Yiwu to place orders. An Australian buyer, Bronte, came specifically to Yiwu to source Christmas decorations for her online business, preparing for the "Black Friday" shopping festival. During her week-long trip she focused on smart and creative festival products, where Yiwu's fast-iterating holiday goods gave her diverse sourcing options.
Cross-border logistics providers feel the change too. Zhang Zhixin, vice president of Yiyang International Logistics, said the company's US-bound sea containers this year have exceeded 8,000, up 20% year on year. He noted that Yiwu's export structure to the United States keeps optimizing and that overseas buyers' concerns about policy risk have eased, with longer-cycle cooperation and steadier shipment planning.
Yiwu is the world's largest Christmas-goods distribution hub, exporting more than 20,000 categories to 178 countries and regions every year. "During this period, Yiwu Port customs seals and clears more than 1,000 containers on average per day," said Song Jiansheng, deputy chief of the customs supervision section. To guarantee efficient clearance of the large volume of Christmas goods, Yiwu customs has continuously innovated its supervision model, deploying large container inspection equipment, an intelligent monitoring center and smart checkpoints, with officers on 24-hour on-site duty enabling all-weather sealing.
The robust holiday trade underscores Yiwu's role as a resilient node in global small-commodity supply, where rapid product iteration and mature logistics together serve buyers worldwide.
