The operation steps of the insulation resistance tester are as follows:
1. The equipment is responsible for measuring to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. For equipment that may produce high-voltage electricity, it is necessary to eliminate this possibility before measurement.
2、The surface of the object to be tested should be clean. The contact resistance should be reduced to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results.
3. Before measurement, perform an open circuit and short circuit test on the megohmmeter to check if it is intact. That is, before connecting the high resistance meter to the object to be measured, turn the handle to achieve the rated speed of the generator (120r/min), observe whether the pointer points to the position of the "∞" scale. Short-circuit the "line (L)" and "ground (E)" terminals, slowly turn the handle, and observe whether the pointer points to the "0" position on the scale. If the pointer cannot point to the position of the pointer, it indicates that the megohmmeter is faulty and should be repaired before reuse.
4、When using the megohmmeter, it should be placed on a stable and firm place, away from large external current conductors and external magnetic fields.
5、The connection must be correct. Usually, there are three terminals on the high resistance meter, where L is connected to the conductor part of the object to be measured and the grounded insulation, E is connected to the shell of the object to be measured or the ground. G is connected to the shielding or the part that does not need to be measured of the test object. When measuring the insulation resistance, the "L" and "E" terminals are usually used only. However, when measuring the insulation resistance of the cable to the ground or the leakage current of the object to be measured is serious, the "G" terminal should be used and the "G" end should be connected to the shielding layer or the shell. After connecting the pipeline, the handle can be turned clockwise. The speed of shaking should be slow and fast.
6、When measuring, place the megohmmeter in a horizontal position, and do not short-circuit the terminals of the megohmmeter when turning the handle. Shake the handle slowly and quickly. If the pointer points to zero, it indicates that there may be a short circuit in the measured insulation.
7、After reading, discharge the test equipment. The discharge method is to remove the grounding wire used in the measurement from the high resistance meter and short-circuit it to the device under test.
