Adesso Advanced Materials' innovative eco-friendly material - the degradable curing agent - has, after years of joint development with strategic partners Shengyi Tech (Guangdong Shengyi Sci. Tech Co., Ltd.) and Lenovo Information Products (Shenzhen), been successfully applied in copper-clad laminates and printed circuit boards. Shengyi Tech's second-generation halogen-free degradable and recyclable CCL, Recyclad1G, has passed authoritative UL certification, and CCLs made with the degraded recycled material have also obtained a third-party recyclable material certification mark - the global pass to open up PCB promotion and application.
The smooth passage of Recyclad1G's authoritative certification marks a substantive, milestone step in the tripartite cooperation promoting the green circular development of PCBs and the entry into the industrialization stage. Adesso's core green material - the degradable curing agent - is the key that enables Recyclad1G CCLs to be efficiently recycled. The successful validation of this product and its closed-loop recycling route means that PCBs based on Recyclad1G can, at end of life, be chemically degraded and recycled through specific processes, solving the problem that PCBs are difficult to degrade and recover, and providing the industry with a brand-new, feasible sustainable development solution.
Mr. Yang Zhongqiang, technical expert at Shengyi Tech, said: "We began cooperating with Adesso on degradable CCL technology ten years ago. To meet the sustainability needs of electronic products, we worked strategically with Adesso and Lenovo, and after nearly three years of R&D launched Recyclad1G - the industry's first halogen-free degradable and recyclable CCL with performance comparable to mainstream conventional laminates. It has passed PCB application validation for different end requirements, obtained UL safety certification, and achieved a technical closed loop of degradation and recycling, creating a new technology system for degradable/recyclable CCLs and PCB applications and contributing a technical solution to the green, low-carbon development of electronic products."
Dr. Bo Liang, founder of Adesso, said: "We are delighted to see Adesso's eco-friendly material technology take root in the products of industry leaders like Shengyi Tech and Lenovo, and successfully obtain international certification. This strengthens our confidence in continuing to invest in green technology R&D. We will continue to work closely with value-chain partners to develop more environmentally friendly, cutting-edge material solutions."
The success of this cooperation sets a new benchmark for the low-carbon, circular transformation of the entire electronics value chain. Adesso, Shengyi Tech and Lenovo Information Products will continue to deepen their cooperation and jointly lead the broader future of electronic materials.
