Pros and Cons of Tilt-and-Turn vs Outward-Opening Casement Windows
1) Tilt-and-turn: advantages — excellent indoor-space efficiency for compact homes; tilt mode meets ventilation without drafts and adds comfort; strong anti-theft and sealing, good for low floors; blocks dust and rain keeping interiors clean. Disadvantages — may affect ceilings, curtains etc. and needs coordination before install; relatively higher price and demands high-quality hardware, raising install/maintenance cost. 2) Outward-opening casement: advantages — no indoor space taken, good ventilation, relatively high sealing/insulation, and avoids occupants bumping the corner in high-rise. Disadvantages — fall risk in high-rise needing anti-fall ropes; vulnerable in storms; and harder/more hazardous to clean and maintain.
